Tag, amplify, track and store. PCR-TagTrax® offers an innovative and helpful approach to identifying, tracking and storing 0.2 ml high-profile PCR tubes, high-profile 8-tube PCR strips, as well as 96-well high-profile PCR plates (non-skirted). Able to withstand a wide range of temperatures, from -196°C to +150°C, makes them safe for use in thermocyclers, and long-term storage in lab freezers. Thermal-transfer printable (using our smudge-proof RR class of resin ribbons) they provide a means to identify PCR tubes and strips with alphanumeric text, as well as 1D and/or 2D barcodes. For use in biomedical research labs, genetic analysis facilities (genotyping, sequencing, cloning), genealogy and family records service companies, microbial sequencing service companies, as well as forensic laboratories.
PCR-TagTrax® is also available in other configurations.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, PCR-TagTrax® labels are thermal-transfer printable and require a ribbon to be printed. To achieve the proper printout, these labels require a RR-class ribbon of the same width or larger.
Yes, PCR-TagTrax labels can withstand temperatures as low (-196°C), perfect for long-term storage of PCR tubes and plates in lab freezers.
Yes, PCR-TagTrax labels can withstand temperatures as high as +150°C, making them suitable for use during PCR reactions, in all common thermocyclers.
Yes, as long as the plate wells have a cylindrical portion. PCR-TagTrax labels will not work with low profile plates. For skirted and semi-skirted plates, we suggest PlateTAG™.
Yes, PCR-TagTrax labels provide enough space to print both 1D as well as 2D barcodes, in addition to alphanumeric text.
Yes, PCR-TagTrax also comes in a 3-hole format, for secure tagging or PCR plate and strips.
Yes, these glove-friendly labels are adhesive-free and can be easily removed and reapplied.
Yes, PCR-TagTrax labels are offered in a variety of colors, as well as multi-color packs.
Yes, perforation lines along the tag allow it to serve as a stand for addition of reagents during sample preparation, and for storage in laboratory refrigerators and freezers.
Yes, PCR-TagTrax has a detachable end that is perfect for record keeping. Simply detach from the rest of the label and place it in your notebook or lab book to keep a record of your PCR reactions.
Yes, the tags can be inscribed with pens and permanent markers, such as our cryo markers, in addition to being thermal-transfer printable.
Barcoding or label design software can be used to create templates that conform to the size of your label. You can then insert design elements within the template, for easy printing.
Yes, we can provide our PCR-TagTrax labels preprinted with full-color graphics and logos, as well as variable or serialized information from a database. Learn more about our custom printing options.
