Description

IDenti-PCR™ – Thermal-Transfer Printable Barcode Labels for Divisible PCR Microplates

  • Secure identification of high-profile 96-well divisible PCR plates
  • Easy-to-separate perforations permit individual microtube labeling
  • Resistant to ultra-low and high temperature conditions (-80°C to +110°C)
  • Safe for use in PCR thermocyclers
  • Economical alternative to custom barcoded (embossed) microplates

IDenti-PCR™ is a unique and convenient way to label FrameStar® Break-A-Way™ 96-well divisible PCR microplates. Thermal-transfer printable on 4″ wide roll-accepting printers, these PCR labels are also writable with permanent markers, letting you effortlessly identify, track, and store 0.2 ml high-profile 96-well PCR plates (skirted). Their distinct design allows them to be affixed precisely onto the 12-position side edges and the top lip area. Moreover, special perforations enable the plates to be separated into 8-well strips while leaving the affixed label intact.
Able to withstand a wide range of temperatures, from -80°C to +110°C, these thermal labels for PCR plates are safe for use in thermocyclers and long-term storage in lab freezers. Thermal-transfer printable (using our recommended smudge-proof RR-class of resin ribbons) provides a means to identify PCR plates with alphanumeric text, as well as 1D or 2D barcodes. For use in biomedical research labs, biospecimen processing, genetic analysis facilities (genotyping, sequencing, cloning), high-throughput assays, and compatible with liquid handling robots.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, IDenti-PCR labels are specially designed to be fully compatible with these microplates and will work with other microplates with a similar design.

Yes, IDenti-PCR labels are printable using most common thermal-transfer printers that accept 4″ wide roll labels.

Yes, IDenti-PCR labels are thermal-transfer printable and require an ink ribbon to be printed. To achieve the proper printout, these labels require an RR-class ink ribbon of the same width or larger.

Yes, using the right barcoding software like BarTender™, you can design and print identical or different 2D barcodes that are perfectly suited for the bottom segments of the label.

Yes, you can write on these labels using a quality permanent marker or pen.

Yes, these labels are designed with portions that are simultaneously affixed onto the top and side of FrameStar® Break-A-Way™ microplates.

Yes, individually-printed labels can be easily separated via the perforations allowing them to be affixed on the side of individual PCR tubes or other microtubes.

Yes, special perforations on the label between the segments allow the plates to be separated into 8-well strips while leaving the affixed label intact.

No, IDenti-PCR has a permanent adhesive, which is not made for easy removal after labeling.

IDenti-PCR labels will withstand deep-freeze conditions (-80°C) but are not recommended for cryogenic (-196°C) environments. For cryogenic thermal-transfer labels, we suggest our NitroTAG® labels.

Yes, IDenti-PCR is intended for use in deep-freeze environments and can be used in (-80°C, -40°C, -20°C) freezers or lab refrigerators (+4°C).

Yes, IDenti-PCR labels are compatible with thermocyclers that are compatible with FrameStar® Break-A-Way™ 96-well divisible PCR microplates.

You can use the software supplied with most thermal-transfer printers to design and print basic barcodes, for additional barcoding customization, we recommend BarTender™ or ZebraDesigner™ Pro.

Barcoding or label design software can be used to create templates that conform to the size of your label. You can then insert design elements within the template for easy printing.

Yes, we can provide IDenti-PCR preprinted with full-color graphics and logos, as well as variable or serialized information and barcodes from a database. Learn more about our custom printing options.
