Description
PCR-TAG™ – Deep-Freeze Labels for High-Profile PCR Tube Strips
- Secure identification of high-profile 8-well PCR tube strips
- Resistant to ultra-low and high temperature conditions (-80°C to +110°C)
- Safe for use in PCR thermocyclers
- Require zero cure time, can be stored in lab freezers immediately following application
- Adhere to wet and moist surfaces
Deep-Freeze permanent labels designed for specific use with high-profile 8-well PCR tube strips. Designed with vertical perforations along the tag, which allow each individual tube to be labeled securely. Ideal for long-term deep-freeze preservation in laboratory -80°C (-112°F) freezers and for dry ice transportation. They also withstand temperatures up to +110°C (+230°F) for safe use in PCR thermal cyclers. Labels can be printed with all major brands of thermal-transfer printers.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, PCR-TAG™ labels are thermal-transfer printable and require a ribbon to be printed. To achieve the proper printout, these labels require a RR-class ribbon of the same width or larger.
No, PCR-TAG labels will withstand deep-freeze conditions (-80°C), but are not intended for cryogenic environments. For PCR labels that will withstand cryogenic conditions, we recommend PCR-TagTrax®.
Yes, PCR-TAG labels can withstand temperatures as high as +110°C, making them suitable for use during PCR reactions, in all common thermocyclers.
Yes, on the outer wells, as long as the labels are applied on the cylindrical portion of high-profile PCR plates. However, for skirted and semi-skirted plates we recommend PlateTAG™ labels, that were designed for that purpose.
Yes, just punch through each perforation to affix a label onto each individual well after aligning the label strip across.
Yes, PCR-TAG is available in a clear format, providing a direct printed-on effect. For our clear labels for PCR strips, see here.
No, these labels are coated with a permanent adhesive, that is not made for easy removal. For removable PCR labels, we suggest our adhesive-free PCR tags.
Yes, PCR-TAG labels are offered in a variety of colors.
Barcoding or label design software can be used to create templates that conform to the size of your label. You can then insert design elements within the template, for easy printing.
Yes, we can provide our PCR-TAG labels preprinted with full-color graphics and logos, as well as variable or serialized information from a database. Learn more about our custom printing options.
