The printout of the DFP/DFPC class of labels is potentially sensitive to light, heat, and chemicals when the labels are used or stored outside their intended condition (liquid nitrogen or deep freeze). DFP/DFPC labels exhibit the same printout and adhesion properties as thermal-transfer printable label equivalents when used or stored in their intended storage conditions (liquid nitrogen or deep freeze). Users assume full responsibility for the suitability of labels, their testing, and proper use. For assistance, please contact us at support@ga-international.com

Description
Cryo-DirectTAG™ – Cryogenic Labels for Direct Thermal Barcode Printers
- The labels can withstand long-term storage in liquid Nitrogen (-196°C), laboratory freezers (-80°C, -20°C), and transportation in dry ice
- Ideal for the identification of vials, microtubes, microplates, and freezer boxes
- Printable with all major direct thermal printer brands
- No need for extra lamination
These cryogenic barcode labels are specially designed for printing with direct thermal printers. The thermoplastic waterproof labels are specifically designed to permanently adhere to vials, microcentrifuge tubes, microtubes, microplates, glass tubes, freezer boxes, plastic bags, and other specimen containers that will undergo long-term cryogenic and deep-freeze storage. These labels have a strong affinity for glass, polypropylene, polyethylene, and other plastic surfaces. The cryogenic labels will remain adhered to tubes through multiple freeze-thaw cycles without cracking or peeling off. These direct thermal cryogenic labels are compatible with most cryogenic storage systems without any hindrance or risk of being scraped off. These labels do not require a self-laminate to work.

Frequently Asked Questions
No, Cryo-DirectTAG labels do not require ink or a ribbon. They can however be printed with certain models of direct thermal or thermal-transfer printer, for more information consult our experienced support team.
No, Cryo-DirectTAG labels are best applied at room temperature. For labeling already frozen vials and tubes, we recommend our CryoSTUCK® labels, a line of cryogenic labels intended for that purpose.
No, while Cryo-DirectTAG and DYMO labels are both classified as direct thermal, DYMO labels have a unique notch that make them and their printers incompatible with other direct thermal labels. For more information, you can consult our printer buying guide.
Please consult our handy sizing guide where you will find recommendations for the most common vial/tube sizes.
Yes, we can provide our Cryo-DirectTAG labels preprinted with logos, 1D and/or 2D barcodes, as well as variable or serialized information from a database. Learn more about our custom printing options.
Label design software can be used to create templates that conform to the size of your label. You can then insert design elements within the template, for easy printing.
No, direct thermal labels will turn entirely black when exposed to elevated temperatures and should not be used for high-heat applications. Some chemicals will have a similar effect and should also be avoided.
