RFID Labels & Tags
Radio-frequency identification (RFID) is a powerful tool used by hospitals, histopathology labs, research facilities, and IVF labs for record keeping, access control, inventory tracking, sample and patient management, and much more. Our RFID solutions are outfitted with small, flexible NFC, HF, and UHF inlays that allow them to be applied to various surfaces. We also offer customizable RFID labels and tags, with the ability to insert these passive NFC, HF, and UHF inlays into any of our durable, resistant labels, creating RFID label solutions suited to any environment.

Benefits of RFID Labels & Tags
Wide Scanning Radius
RFID smart labels can be scanned and read in batches, simultaneously, from a few inches to a few feet in range and without full visibility/direct line of sight. This contrasts with 1D and 2D barcodes, which require complete visibility, with a high image quality to be scanned. As such, RFID tags will emit their signal within a wide omnidirectional read range, even when covered or embedded within a container, and can be scanned in a 360° radius. This provides RFID labeling greater freedom in tag placement, reducing the label’s risk of falling off or being removed.
Printed & Encoded
RFID labels and tags can be encoded with far more information than barcodes, and the technology protects your data with encryption and physical shielding. Moreover, thermal RFID labels are compatible with most thermal-transfer printers, allowing them to be printed with serialized text and barcodes. This enables you to print general information that can be visually read while ensuring that sensitive data is kept confidential. This combination of barcodes and RFID makes it possible to fully integrate RFID tag labels into a laboratory management system, speeding up routine processes such as sample gatekeeping, inventorying, and tracking. Overall, RFID makes sample monitoring workflows easy and time-saving.
Our RFID smart labels are equipped with a passive ultra-high frequency (UHF) inlay that does not require a battery to function. They are powered by a signal emitted from an RFID scanner/reader, collected via its internal antenna, and modulated into a specific pattern that is reflected back. This design permits the labels to be made in much smaller sizes, while the inlay’s flexible nature allows the labels to be applied to various surfaces, including curved surfaces. Passive RFID labels and tags do, however, require a data processing system that will store and process the scanned information.
The primary benefit of RFID labeling for the healthcare industry is the reduction of misidentification errors. Perfect for use in the clinic and by research facilities, RFID tags allow patient samples to be tracked in real-time, from collection to testing. They also make supply chain management more efficient, improving your inventory’s accuracy, can be programmed to send medical alerts to staff, and be used to locate valuable samples. In the lab, RFID thermal labels make tracking and monitoring workflows easier, great for use in histology, pathology, and clinical labs.
Custom RFID Identification Solutions
In addition to our currently available blank, user-printable RFID labels and tags, RFID solutions can be provided, custom printed with serialized barcodes, color logos, and encoded with alphanumerical values. We also offer full customization options to meet your specific application needs. As such, we can provide your labels and tags fully pre-printed, or blank with only your full-color logo added. Our full customization options also include selecting any of our durable label facestocks to produce an RFID label that can withstand chemical exposure and a wide range of temperatures. From inlay, antennae, and size to configuration and material selections, GA International offers performant specialty RFID labels and tags to produce unique and dependable identification and tracking solutions.
