This policy describes how GA International Inc. (GA International, “us” or “we”) collects, processes, uses and shares personal information and personal data about users of the GA International Inc.’s websites, namely blog.labtag.com, labtag.ca, labtag.com, labtag.eu and bijoutag.com (the “Websites”).

Basis for Data Processing

  • Financial and payment data such as banking details, invoices, and payment terms as well as any personal data for fulfilling legitimate processing billing information;

  • Tax identification number where you request products or services that require such information;

Data Collected Automatically

We collect information automatically when you use the Websites. This information is saved each time you interact with the Websites and includes data about the specifics of your interactions with the Websites, in particular:

  • The IP address from which your computer or other device access the Websites, actions taken, the number of connections to the Websites, the date of the connections to the Websites, the information needed to enable cookies, the information needed to enable the instant messaging application;
  • The personal and business information, as the case may be, necessary in order to identify users (e.g. name, title, address);
  • The information necessary in order to identify which user has completed a form online.

Location data

When your mobile device’s location feature is turned on and you have granted the Websites access to our location data, we collect precise location information. By allowing the Websites to access the location data of your mobile device, you consent to our collection and use of your location data in accordance with this policy. You can use the Websites even if you have not granted access to your location data, but some features will be disabled.

Your location data is saved each time you interact with the Websites. This data could be used to infer additional information about you, such as consumer habits.

Data From Analysis Tools

We collect information from sites or social networking applications (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, Google+, etc.) when you interact with profiles belonging to us. These sites or applications are also governed by their own policies regarding your personal data which may be different from ours and may be applicable.

How We Use Your Data

We process personal data collected through the Websites for the purposes described below. Some processing is subject to your specific consent, while other processing is necessary to provide you with products and services or is based on the pursuit of legitimate interests.

We use the personal data you provided us (for example your name and email address) to contact you about your use of the Websites, but only if you have provided such data and if you agree to receive communications from us. We abide by applicable regulations with respect to unwanted electronic communications. Customizing Our Services and the Websites

We use the personal data you relayed to us by submitting one or more of our online forms or by communicating with us via our instant messaging or email addresses. We use the data collected for these purposes in order to offer customized services to our clients. We collect information forwarded by third parties (such as Form spree, Olark, and HubSpot) in order to assist customer service. These third-party services are also governed by their own policies regarding your personal data which may be different from ours and may be applicable.

We use data collected automatically during your connection to the Websites to offer you products and services. We also use this data to provide you with content that matches your interests, depending on the content you viewed through the Websites.

We or a third party may access personal data about you when you share information about yourself on social media networks and also when you interact with us electronically such as through our Websites, email, social media properties or online advertising. We or a third party may use cookies, web beacons and other site-related technologies for various purposes including session management, traffic monitoring, personalization, transactions (e.g. credit card sales), marketing or promotional purposes, to better understand which web, mobile or other electronic features you use, or to improve or to develop new products, services, programs or promotions. Providing Information to Our Partners

We use the data collected through the Websites, in aggregate form that does not associate data to a particular individual, in order to provide marketing information to our business partners. We share usage statistics related to our Websites that are segmented using certain personal characteristics, without these characteristics being associated with any particular individual.

Financial information

We collect financial and credit card information for payment directly by check or credit card or via purchase order (by check or credit card). However, the information collected during the exercise of these payment terms is destroyed immediately after we have received confirmation of payment. Payments that can be made through the Websites are processed directly by our service provider, Stripe, which has exclusive access to the credit card information. Stripe is also governed by its own policies relating to your personal data which are different from ours and are applicable.

Websites’ Maintenance

We use data collected through the Websites and data collected from analytics tools (such as Kissmetrics analytics) to monitor usage of the Websites generally, to prevent misuse of the Websites, to identify problems or bugs in the Websites and to determine which features we should improve.

Legitimate Interests

We process personal data collected through the Websites to fulfill our legitimate interests, including improving our products and services and providing our users with personalized content. We rely on our legitimate interests, such as promoting our products and services, in providing value to our business partners, by processing the data (including personal data) collected through the Websites, to enable them to use personalized advertising and improve the marketing of our products and services.

We take the privacy of our users seriously. That is why the processing of personal data based on our legitimate interests never involves communicating specific personal data about an identifiable individual to third parties.

How do we Store your Data

We keep your personal data until you ask us to destroy it or until our activities no longer require keeping your data. We do not, however, undertake to keep any data for a determined period of time.

Personal data is stored electronically on our servers located in Laval (Quebec), Canada. These servers are operated by our hosting provider, which undertakes in writing to keep personal data confidential.

Personal data collected about individuals located outside of Canada is transferred to Canada. Canada is recognized as an adequate jurisdiction for the transfer of personal data from the European Union.

How Personal Data is Protected

Our employees and service providers are aware that the personal data collected through the Websites is confidential and are informed about the appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorized access to personal data.

How Personal Data is Disclosed

  3. take all reasonable steps to prevent further security breaches; and
  4. reasonably cooperate with services providers and the concerned user to assess the personal data that has been breached and provide the user with a description of its personal data and corrective actions taken by GA International Inc. to prevent future security breaches.
  5. If required by applicable law, notify the relevant authorities.

What are your Rights regarding your Personal Data

Right to access

You may have access to some personal data that you have personally provided to us by accessing your account through the Websites.

We will respond to your request promptly (within 30 days of receipt), allowing you to access your personal data that is under our control. When required by law, we will provide your data in a portable machine-readable format.

Right to rectification

Right to portability

Whenever GA International Inc. processes your personal data by automated means based on your consent or when you purchase our products and services you have the right to get a copy of your data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format transferred to you or to another party. This only includes the personal data you have submitted to us.

We will respond to your request promptly (within 30 days of receipt), allowing you to access your personal data that is under our control. When required by law, we will provide your data in a portable machine-readable format.

Withdrawal of Consent

You may withdraw your consent to the collection and processing of some personal data, for example, by withdrawing your consent to receive our commercial emails.

The Websites allows you to withdraw your consent to certain processing of your personal data, including by opting in or out of promotional offers based on your activities on the Websites.

If you wish to withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal data beyond what the Websites or your mobile device allows, please notify us in writing at privacy@ga-international.com. It is not possible to stop all processing of your personal data and continue using the Websites. The only way to stop all processing of your personal data is to stop using the Websites.

Right to object

In certain circumstances, depending on your place of residence, you may have the right to object to the processing of your personal data based on our legitimate interests. You may object to the processing of your data in writing at privacy@ga-international.com.

Right to erasure

You may request the erasure of personal data that we hold about you in writing at privacy@ga-international.com. We will respond to your request as soon as possible (within 30 days of receipt).

If you continue to use the Websites after your personal data has been erased, we will continue to collect certain data about you.

Right to complain to a Supervisory Authority

If you reside in the European Union, you have the right to lodge a complaint about the processing of your personal data with a supervisory authority responsible for the protection of privacy. The competent authority may vary depending on your country of residence.

If you reside outside of the European Union, this policy shall be governed by the laws applicable in Canada and the Canadian authorities shall have exclusive jurisdiction to hear any complaint or proceedings based on this policy or the processing of your personal data by GA International Inc.

Right to restriction

You have the right to request that GA International Inc. restricts the processing of your personal data under the following circumstances:

  1. if you object to the processing based on GA International Inc.’s legitimate interests, GA International Inc. shall restrict all processing of such data pending the verification of the legitimate interests;
  2. if you claim that your personal data is incorrect, GA International Inc. must restrict all processing of such data pending the verification of the accuracy of the personal data;
  3. if the processing is unlawful, you can oppose the erasure of personal data and instead request the restriction of the use of your personal data.

Other provisions

Verification

We reserve the right to verify the identity of individuals requesting access to personal data. Any information collected to perform this verification will not be used for any other purpose.

Updates to This Policy
