Description
DYMO Compatible CryoSTUCK® – Cryogenic Labels for Frozen Surfaces (Patented)
- Quick labeling of frozen vials and tubes (no thawing required)
- Withstand exposure to chemicals, water baths, and condensation
- Compatible with the DYMO® LabelWriter 450-Series and 4XL
- Convenient to print, no need for ribbons or other ink source
CryoSTUCK® technology is available for labels compatible with DYMO LabelWriter 450 -Series printers allowing for crisp, 300dpi resolution barcodes and text. These cryogenic labels are specially designed to be directly affixed onto already frozen surfaces, as low as -80°C/-112°F, like vials and tubes, then returned to long-term preservation in liquid nitrogen (-196°C/-321°F) or ultra-low temperature freezers (-80°C). These labels help preserve the integrity of valuable temperature-sensitive samples and specimens, by avoiding the need to thaw containers before attaching them onto frozen vials. The permanent adhesive will keep the label from detaching or flagging over time under liquid nitrogen conditions and withstand subsequent thawing in heated water baths. These direct thermal labels do not require an ink ribbon for printing and are resistant to commonly used laboratory chemicals such as detergents, ethanol, disinfecting solutions, and surface-sanitizing wipes, making them ideal for use in research facilities, clinical laboratories, biobanks, biotechnology companies, and other.

Yes, CryoSTUCK labels are available in sheet format, for printing with laser printers. For our Laser CryoSTUCK labels click here.
Yes, CryoSTUCK labels have been especially designed for the purpose of labeling already frozen vials and tubes. These cryogenic labels can be applied at -80°C/-112°F, eliminating the need to thaw valuable samples.
After removal from liquid nitrogen, we recommend that tubes are allowed to equilibrate on dry ice for at least 5 minutes before labeling.
To ensure proper application of these labels, wipe the surface of the vial/tube with a clean lint-free disposable wipe (e.g: KimWipe™) prior to affixing the label to remove excess frost. Apply the edge of the label first, pressing firmly to anchor it, and then apply the label securely into position along the vials’ entire circumference. Our DYMO-compatible CryoSTUCK® labels do not require an overlap to produce a secure adhesion to frozen vials and tubes.
Yes, CryoSTUCK labels can be used to label samples prior to storing them in low-temperature freezers and liquid nitrogen tanks.
No, the vials can be stored in liquid nitrogen (-196°C), or ultra-low temperature freezers (-80°C) immediately following label application, requiring no cure time.
Yes, these labels are resistant to commonly used laboratory chemicals such as detergents, ethanol, disinfecting solutions, and surface-sanitizing wipes.
No, CryoSTUCK labels are coated with an extra-permanent adhesive, that is not made for easy removal. For removable cryogenic solutions see here.
Please consult our handy sizing guide where you will find recommendations for the most common vial/tube sizes.
Label design and barcoding software can be used to create templates that conform to the size of your label. You can then insert design elements within the template, for easy printing.
No, we don’t recommend our DYMO-compatible CryoSTUCK labels for this purpose. Our thermal-transfer blackout CryoSTUCK labels will conceal pre-existing labels, while our clear CryoSTUCK labels can be applied over an existing label, acting as a laminate to reinforce the label.
