Description
Solvent-Resistant Removable Blackout Labels
- Unique opaque design allows the labels to obscure all pre-existing information
- Removable adhesive ensures the labels can be easily removed without leaving any adhesive residue
- Chemical-resistant, can withstand spraying with alcohols and solvents*
Designed for flat plastic, metal, and glass surfaces, such as microscope slides, these removable blackout labels can conceal any already existing information, while their glove-friendly adhesive allows them to be easily removed without damaging the information underneath. Ideal for re-identifying slides marked with unclear, erroneous, or incomplete information.
These thermal-transfer printable removable labels have a unique construction that provides resistance to spraying with harsh solvents*, such as xylene, toluene, and alcohols, as well as continuous wiping with surface sanitizing wipes. When printed with our chemical-resistant XAR-class of ribbons, the printout obtained is also resistant to solvents and harsh chemical exposure. These versatile labels have a wide temperature resistant range (-20°C to +100°C/-4°F to +212°F) perfectly suited for the identification of microscope slides that will undergo short or long-term storage in laboratory freezers.
*Not intended for continuous immersion in harsh solvents.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, our SBOR-class of labels are thermal-transfer printable and require a ribbon to be printed. To achieve the proper printout, these labels require a xylene and solvent-resistant XAR-class ribbon of the same width or larger.
Yes, our blackout chemical-resistant labels are designed for flat surfaces, including microscope slides However, for microscope slides subjected to extended xylene exposure, we recommend our XyliFIL™ and XyliSTUCK™ labels.
No, our blackout labels are not suggested for use in histological staining protocols. These labels are intended for post-stain relabeling.
No, SBOR-class labels are not offered in color. For color chemical-resistant labels see here.
Yes, these labels are coated with a glove-friendly adhesive, made for easy removal. For permanent blackout labels click here.
Barcoding or label design software can be used to create templates that conform to the size of your label. You can then insert design elements within the template, for easy printing.
