Description
Cryo-OmniTAG™ – Transparent Cryogenic Labels for Thermal-Transfer Printers
Transparent thermoplastic cryogenic labels for bio-medical research and clinical laboratories. Withstand long-term storage in deep-freeze and harsh laboratory environments, including liquid and vapor phase liquid nitrogen* (-196°C/-321°F), lab freezers (-80°C/-112°F), and dry ice transportation. Ideal for labeling vials where an unobstructed view of contents is required. Their high temperature and water resistance make these labels perfectly suitable for heated water bath thawing applications. When printed in mirror-image mode, these labels can be applied to the underside of clear plates for easy reading.
Benefit:
- Can withstand a wide temperature range from extreme low temperatures (-196°C) to elevated temperatures, including boiling water (+100°C)
- Transparent design ensures contents of labeled containers remain visible
- Printable with all major thermal-transfer printer brands

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, Cryo-OmniTAG labels need a ribbon to be printed with all common thermal-transfer printers. To achieve the proper printout, we recommend a RR-class ribbon of the same width or larger.
No, Cryo-OmniTAG labels are best applied at room temperature. For labeling already frozen vials and tubes, we recommend CryoSTUCK® labels, a line of cryogenic labels especially designed for that purpose.
Please consult our handy sizing guide where you will find recommendations for the most common vial/tube sizes.
Barcoding or label design software can be used to create templates that conform to the size of your label. You can then insert design elements within the template, for easy printing.
Select the “mirror image printing” feature of your label design software to print text, images, and barcodes that can be read/scanned when viewed from overhead.
Yes, we can provide our Cryo-OmniTAG cryo labels preprinted with full-color graphics and logos, as well as variable or serialized information from a database. Learn more about our custom printing options.
No, Cryo-OmniTAG labels are coated with a permanent adhesive, that is not made for easy removal. For removable cryogenic solutions see here.
Yes, Cryo-OmniTAG labels can be inscribed using permanent ink cryogenic markers, such as our Science-MarkerTM.
Yes, our Cryo-OmniTAG labels will withstand spraying and wiping with alcohols, including 70% ethanol, and 100% isopropanol.
No, HBCL labels are designed for cryogenic use, and are not suitable for high-heat conditions. However, GANA-class Cryo-OmniTAG labels are autoclave-resistant.
No, if you want to reinforce an existing label, we offer clear CryoSTUCK labels that can be applied over an existing label while not concealing their printed information. They can thus add an extra layer of protection for your label.
