Identification Solution for Resin-Embedding Capsules in Electron Microscopy
While imaging technologies have advanced substantially, methods for sample identification have remained unsophisticated. Technicians write numbers on a piece of paper that they then embed in resin blocks, or they identify the container in which they store their samples. This is not a good practice as it can lead to sample mix-ups and the loss of information. ResiTAG® allows for a more secure and permanent identification solution for resin blocks.
What is ResiTAG®
ResiTAG® is an identification solution to keep track of samples used in electron microscopy. These labels are resistant to resin and baking. You can buy them alone or in a kit along with a thermal-transfer printer, barcode printing software, and printing ribbon. You can use the kit to print ResiTAG® labels with text and barcodes.
Why use ResiTAG®
With ResiTAG® you can print many lines of text on a tiny label – way more than if you were to hand-write. You can save time by printing hundreds of labels at once. You will have a clear, legible identifier for your samples. The chemical-resistant printout will not smear in liquid or baked resin. You can even scan barcodes into Excel, removing the possibility of human error.
How to use ResiTAG®
ResiTAG® labels are easy to use. Simply print the labels on a thermal-transfer printer, with text and barcodes and insert the label into the capsule or mold containing your sample and liquid resin. Bake your samples in the histological oven. You now have a unique identifier for each sample that you can track in an excel sheet or database.
