RFID Labels & RFID Tags

Radio-frequency identification (RFID) is a powerful tool used by hospitals, histopathology labs, research facilities, and IVF labs for record keeping, access control, inventory tracking, sample and patient management, and much more. Our RFID solutions are outfitted with flexible NFC, HF, and UHF inlays that allow them to be applied to various surfaces or our durable, resistant labels, creating RFID labels suited to harsh environments.

Benefits of RFID Labels & RFID Tags

Wide Scanning Radius

RFID smart labels can be scanned and read in batches, simultaneously, from a few inches to a few feet in range and without full visibility/direct line of sight. As such, RFID tags will emit their signal within a wide omnidirectional read range, even when covered or embedded within a container. This provides RFID labeling greater freedom in tag placement, reducing the label’s risk of falling off or being removed.

Printed & Encoded

RFID labels and tags can be encoded with far more information than barcodes, and the technology protects your data with encryption and physical shielding. Moreover, thermal RFID labels are compatible with most thermal-transfer printers, allowing them to be printed with serialized text and barcodes. This combination of barcodes and RFID makes it possible to fully integrate RFID tag and labels into a laboratory management system, speeding up routine processes such as sample gatekeeping, inventorying, and tracking.

Flexible inlays

Our RFID smart labels are equipped with a passive inlay that does not require a battery to function. This permits the labels to be made in much smaller sizes, while the inlay’s flexible nature allows the labels to be applied to various surfaces, including curved surfaces. Passive RFID labels and RFID tags do, however, require an integrator system that will store and process the encoded information.

Applications

The primary benefit of RFID labeling for the healthcare industry is the reduction of misidentification errors. Perfect for use in the clinic and by research facilities, RFID tags allow patient samples to be tracked in real-time, from collection to testing. They also make supply chain management more efficient, improving your inventory’s accuracy, can be programmed to send medical alerts to staff, and be used to locate valuable samples. In the lab, RFID thermal labels make tracking and monitoring workflows easier.

Custom RFID Identification Solutions

In addition to our printable RFID labels and RFID tags, RFID solutions can be custom printed with serialized barcodes, color logos, and encoded with alphanumerical values. We also offer TID and UID reading and printing on RFID labels and flexible/non-adhesive RFID tags. This service includes a verification system to verify the unique RFID code matches the printed data. TID and UID are factory-locked and cannot be changed following production. This simplifies the process of detecting if an RFID tag has been replaced, perfect for instances where tamper detection is crucial, such as anti-counterfeiting. Our full customization options can utilize our durable label facestocks to produce an RFID label that can withstand chemical exposure and a wide range of temperatures. From inlay, antennae, chip, and size to configuration and material selection, GA International offers performant specialty RFID labels and RFID tags to produce unique and dependable identification and tracking solutions.
